| Flat-blade disc trubine |
General purpose for high shear gas-liquid dispersion (less than 15,000 cP). For example, dispersion of air bubbles in fermentor. |
| Pitched-blade disc turbine |
General purpose for high shear gas-liquid dispersion (less than 15,000 cP). |
| Curved-blade turbine |
General purpose for aiding solid settlements. |
| Flat-blade turbine |
General purpose for high shear gas-liquid dispersion and emulsion mixing (less than 50,000 cP). This impeller can be used for blending applications when high torque agitation is required. For example, mixing chemicals in wastewater treatment plants. |
Bar disc turbine |
General purpose for very high shear solid-liquid dispersion (less than 50,000 cP). For example, production of adhesive emulsion. |
| Saw-toothed disc turbine (High-shear dispersing) |
General purpose for dispersion of solid particles in liquid phase. For example, dispersion of pigment in paint industries. |
| Anchor |
General purpose for blending and heat transfer of high-viscosity liquid (5,000-50,000 cP). For example, mixing of grinded cassava in hydrolysis tank. |
| Double spiral |
General purpose for blending of slurry and solid particles (less than 1,000,000 cP). For example, bleanding of chilly paste in food industries. |
| Double ribbon |
Mix free flowing ingredients for fine powder including plastics, chemicals, colorings and mixing feed for agriculture. |

| When a low viscosity liquid is stirred in an unbaffled tank by an axially mounted agitator, swirling flow pattern is tended to develop. This phenomenon produces centrifugal forces acting on the ratating liquid, called “vortex”. When the vortex is occurred, there is a limit to the rotational speed, severe air entrainment and fluctuating force acting on the mixer shaft. The vortex can be eliminated by several techniques i.e. installing a baffle and mounting the impeller off center as shown in fixgure 1. |
